All persons entering the courtroom shall conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner. The courtroom is a place of law and justice, and all individuals are expected to maintain proper decorum at all times.
- Be respectful and courteous to the Judge, attorneys, parties, witnesses, court staff, law enforcement personnel, and all others present.
- Refrain from any conduct, gestures, facial expressions, or remarks that may be perceived as disruptive, disrespectful, or intimidating.
- All persons shall rise when the Judge enters or exits the courtroom and at such other times as directed by the bailiff or court staff.
- Follow all instructions given by the Judge, bailiff, and court personnel.
- Family members and friends shall not have any verbal or physical contact with inmates unless expressly authorized by the Court or law enforcement personnel.
- Chewing gum is prohibited.
- Food and beverages are not permitted in the courtroom unless approved by the Court.
- Feet shall not be placed on tables, chairs, benches, or other courtroom furniture.
- Talking, whispering, or any unnecessary noise that interferes with court proceedings is prohibited.
- All cellular telephones and electronic devices shall be turned off or placed in silent mode before entering the courtroom. Any device that disrupts court proceedings may be confiscated, removed from the courtroom, or otherwise handled as directed by the Court.
- Photography, video recording, audio recording, livestreaming, or the use of any recording device is prohibited unless written authorization is obtained, in advance, by the Court.
- Laptop computers and other electronic devices may be used only for purposes related to court proceedings and only with permission of the Court when required.
- The use of tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaping devices, or similar products is prohibited in the courtroom and courthouse.
- Individuals addressing the Court shall stand unless physically unable to do so or excused by the Judge.
- Profanity, abusive language, threats, or disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.
Any person who violates these rules may be removed from the courtroom, held in contempt of court, or subjected to other sanctions authorized by law.
