Judge David Hilburn
Judge David Hilburn was appointed to the 361st District Court of Brazos County by Governor Greg Abbott in January 2022. Hilburn is originally from Lockhart, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Development from Texas A&M University in 1997 and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 2000.

Prior to his service in the 361st District Court, Judge Hilburn of College Station served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office from 2000-2005, and in the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office from 2005-2009. He then practiced criminal defense in private practice from 2009 until 2022.
Judge Hilburn is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Aggie Bar Association, the Brazos County A&M Club, and the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association. Additionally, he is a member and previously served as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Brazos County Bar Association. He has also served as board member and former President of the Children’s Museum of Brazos Valley.
Judge Hilburn’s wife, Amy, is a local veterinarian and teacher. They have three children who keep them very active with many activities, both in school and out.
The jurisdiction of a District Court is determined by the Texas Constitution and statute. Generally speaking, the jurisdiction of a District Court includes felony criminal cases, civil cases with higher amounts of controversy, and family law matters.
The 361st District Court handles civil, criminal (felony and related misdemeanors), family law, and juvenile cases.
It is the goal of the 361st District Court to provide a just, fair, equitable, and impartial adjudication of all matters brought before this court, and to treat all individuals with integrity, honesty, equality, and respect.

You will need to request a hearing or make appearance at a scheduled hearing. To request a hearing, you’ll need to complete a Setting Request form and return it to the District Clerk’s Office.
