All junkyards, automotive wrecking yards, and salvage yards in Brazos County must apply for a County permit/license.

Permits and licenses help protect public health, safety, and welfare and include required inspections under the Brazos County Junkyards, Automotive Wrecking and Salvage Yard Ordinance.

Permit fees help cover inspection and permit processing costs.

These regulations are adopted by the Brazos County Commissioners Court under Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 396.

Activities associated with oil and gas exploration in Brazos County require a Brazos County Floodplain Development Permit. This ensures that the oil and gas activities do not adversely affect the quality of life, safety, or general welfare of our citizens and businesses as a result of their operation.
