Brazos County maintains over 484 miles of county roads. Over time, cracks form in the pavement, allowing water to damage the road and weaken its strength.
To protect and extend the life of county roads, Brazos County uses a preventative maintenance program. Seal coating can extend the life of asphalt by several years. Work typically occurs in the summer, with preparation in late winter or spring.

Brazos County provides trash compactor facilities to help residents properly dispose of household waste and reduce littering and trash burning.
Rural residents may drop off bagged household waste at any Brazos County collection site.
Little Known Fact: Some locations accept large items, and some do not. Please check before bringing large waste.
Facilities Are Not Free to Use
- Each item (one large item or one 55-gallon bag) must have a validation sticker attached.
- Stickers are sold in books of 10. A book costs $6. (Prices subject to change.)
