[ARCHIVED] Anke Shea

Ms. Anke Shea was selected as our Brazos County Juvenile Services "Employee of the Month" for September, 2009. Anke has done an outstanding job of managing her caseload and she consistently completes case plans ahead of schedule. Anke routinely meets with her probationers more frequently than required in an effort to make the biggest impact possible. Anke is always positive, enthusiastic, and courteous.

On Friday August 28, 2009, one of Ankes probationers who was currently detained in the Detention Center was out of an important medication, so Anke voluntarily worked overtime and drove to the child's home, picked up the child's father, who had no transportation, and took him to the pharmacy so he could purchase the medication. This sort of extra effort and sincere concern for the probationers she works with is part of what makes Anke so great. Great job Anke. Were proud of you.

Title: Juvenile Probation Officer

Merits: Anke has received praise from her Supervisor, Todd McKey, for her willingness to work very hard, and for her ability to learn quickly.

Bio: Anke Shea received her Bachelors Degree in Pedagogy and Sport Science from Christian-Wirth-Schule University in Usingen Germany. She later earned a Masters Degree in Youth Pedagogy and Sport Science from Justus-Liebig University located in Giessen Germany.

Before beginning employment with Brazos County Juvenile Services in December 2008, Anke served as a Rehabilitation Case Manager for 8 years with the Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority of the Brazos Valley.
