BRYAN, TX – The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is pleased to announce its participation in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense. The Museum and more than 2,000 museums across America offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day, May 26, through Labor Day, September 1, 2014.
"Through Blue Star Museums, the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is saying THANK YOU to all the Active Duty Personnel and their families for their service to our country," said Dr. Deborah Cowman, Executive Director. "We hope military families on a limited budget will be able to take advantage of free admission this summer and can enjoy the Museum and our family oriented exhibits and programs."
This is the Museum's fifth consecutive year to participate in the Blue Star Museums. On July 26th, 9 am – 11 am, the Museum will also host Wish Upon a Butterfly, an annual butterfly release, and funds from this event will underwrite the Museum's free admission for active duty military families. The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is open to visitors Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, and from June 9 – August 22, Monday –Saturday 10 am – 5 pm. Regular admission fees: adults $5; seniors/students/children $4; children 3 and under are free.
