[ARCHIVED] Rapid HIV Testing Now Available

free-hiv-testing.png

The Brazos County Health Department is now offering free, rapid HIV testing. Rapid tests allow clients to receive same day test results. Tests are available during the following times:

Tuesdays: 9 am - 11 am & 1 pm - 3 pm
Thursdays: 8:30 am - 11 am

Tests are offered on a walk-in basis. No appointment is necessary. However, a picture ID is required.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that health care providers test everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 at least once as part of routine health care. One in six people in the United States who have HIV do not know they are affected.

HIV is spread through unprotected sex and drug-injecting behaviors (plus mother to child), so people who engage in these behaviors should get tested more often.
