Requirements of an applicant
In the two years preceding the date a license application is filed, the applicant must have at least one year of continuous work experience in the bail bond business and have completed at least eight hours of either:
- continuing legal education in criminal law courses, or
- bail bond law courses that are approved by the State Bar of Texas and offered by an institution of higher education accredited by the state.
Applications must be submitted to the Secretary of the Board with an original and fifteen copies, along with a filing fee of $500.00 (non-refundable).
Renewal applications must be filed not more than sixty days nor less than thirty days prior to the expiration date of a license accompanied with the required $500 fee.
