Justice Michael P. McCleary

Judge Michael P. McCleary was first elected to the office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, in Brazos County, in November 2006 and re-elected in 2010.

Judge McCleary, son of an Air Force Sergeant and Mrs W.J. McCleary (of Wellborn, Texas), was born in San Francisco in 1949.

He graduated from La Vega High School in Waco Texas in 1968 and from Texas A&M University in 1972.

In 1961, he met his childhood sweetheart Ms Diane Kunkel of Elm Mott, TX. They married in 1970. They raised a family of three wonderful sons in Wellborn, Texas. Now they are helping to raise four grandsons and four granddaughters, teaching them family values and country ways.

Judge McCleary is also a local business owner of McCleary Construction, McCleary Cattle Co., Riverbend Polo Club and M&M Scuba. He has coached the Texas A&M University Polo Club since 1972.
