How Do I...?

Road Construction/Closures:

Brazos County Road Department will provide a maintenance seal to approximately 74 linear miles this year of roadway.
Work across the county is currently scheduled in the time period from May 30th through June 9th.
On most streets the work will only take about 30 minutes per block per lane. There might be a short period of time when the roadway in front of a residence is in an active work zone, and for safety reasons, the driveway is inaccessible. Drivers should be attentive to the freshly resurfaced roadway and drive slowly. The surface is still “tender” for the remainder of the curing process. Tight turns, quick accelerations, or sudden stops and heavy braking may leave permanent marks in the surface in the first few months, especially on very hot days.

We ask that each resident help maintain the quality of their street by moving vehicles parked on the street in advance of the seal coat work scheduled for the dates shown above. In the cases where residents have not moved their vehicles, seal coat production will be reduced and we will have to return with a hand crew to cover those spaces at a later date. This will be more expensive and result in fewer streets that can be seal coated that year.

Brazos County Road and Bridge Department is working on or will soon begin the total reconstruction of several roads. As weather permits, road work will be on-going Monday through Thursday (possibly weekends) 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Motorists can expect delays and periodic intermittent or temporary road closures along with possible overnight closures in some locations. Please be cautious of work crews in the area. We appreciate your patience during the construction process. Please call 979-822-2127 if more information is required (leave a message if there is no answer).
