[ARCHIVED] Demetris McDaniel

Demetris McDaniel has been chosen as the Brazos County Juvenile Department's "Employee of the Month" for July, 2007. Demetris is very dependable and dedicated. She consistently performs at or above expectations. She is able to manage multiple priorities and has demonstrated an ability to over-come adversity. She is a positive role-model for her peers as well as for the probationers she supervises.

Demetris is a woman of great character. For instance, she consistently exhibits:

1 Dependability over inconsistency. She fulfills what she consents to do, even if it means unexpected sacrifice.

2. Joyfulness over self-pity. She consistently maintains a good attitude, even when faced with unpleasant conditions.

3. Self-control over self-indulgence. She consistently rejects wrong desires, choosing to do what is right.

Demetris is very intelligent and exhibits a clam wisdom as she conducts her daily affairs. She is very friendly and is well respected by her peers and supervisors alike. Demetris is truly an amazing officer and a true asset to the juvenile department. She deserves much praise for all the great things she does. I am proud and blessed to know her.

Merits: Demetris was previously formally acknowledged by a peer for her assistance in dealing with a difficult client. Demetris was also previously chosen as our "Employee of the Month" in October of 2005.

Bio: Demetris graduated from Bryan High School and received a bachelors degree in criminology and corrections from Sam Houston State University. She is married to Mr. Norris McDaniel and has two very wonderful and talented children, Jay (13) and Jaylah (5).

Before beginning work for the Brazos County Juvenile Department, Demetris worked as a caseworker for the Texas Youth Commission, Scotty's House, and the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. She brought this wealth of experience to the juvenile department beginning in March of 2005.
